Free Halloween Games to Play Online (2026): Ghosts, UFOs and a Pumpkin King

Glowbit Games · Updated

Halloween is the best time of year for silly, spooky games. Not the kind that keeps you up at night, but the kind with bedsheet ghosts, pumpkins, moonlit fields and a lot of screaming (mostly from the characters).

Every game on this list is free, runs right in your browser with no download and no sign-up, and works on phones and tablets too. They’re made by our studio, Glowbit, and each one loads in about 1 MB, so they start in seconds, even on school Wi-Fi. None of them are gory or truly scary, so they’re fine for a family Halloween party.

1. Haunt Sweet Home!: be the ghost

Genre: Halloween strategy comedy · Download: ~1 MB · Mobile: yes · Ages: 7+

This is our most Halloween game of all. You play a little bedsheet ghost, and a new family has just moved into your house. You have until 6 AM to haunt the furniture until every resident runs out of the front door screaming.

Click a glowing object and it goes wild: the lamp flickers, the piano plays by itself, the toilet flushes in the middle of the night. Everyone in that room gets a fright. Scare two people at once for a DOUBLE SCARE, then TRIPLE, then MEGA. Over 12 nights you unlock four ghost powers: BOO!, Cold Spot, Lights Out and Poltergeist.

The residents fight back in funny ways. Teens wear headphones and can’t hear sound-only scares. Skeptics say “Old pipes.” until you hit them with something big. Grannies are very brave. And from night 10 on, ghost hunters walk the halls with flashlights. If a beam stays on you, you get zapped.

Best for: anyone who has ever wanted to be the ghost instead of the person running away.

2. Crop Circle Crew: a UFO on a moonlit night

Genre: drawing arcade · Download: ~1 MB · Mobile: yes · Ages: 7+

Aliens, a farm at midnight and mysterious shapes in the corn: that’s a perfect Halloween story. You fly a little flying saucer over a moonlit field and press the crop flat with your tractor beam to copy a glowing pattern before sunrise.

From night 3 on, you aren’t alone. Farmer Joe patrols with a flashlight, his dog Biscuit barks when your beam gets close, a truck drives the dirt road with its headlights on and UFO hunters sweep the sky with searchlights. Get photographed three times and you’re caught. You can also beam up cows for bonus points.

At dawn the camera rises into the sky to show off your work, and the next morning the local newspaper writes about it.

Best for: a calm, slightly spooky game. Use the stake trick from the guide and your circles come out perfect.

3. Buzz Brigade!: fight the Pumpkin King

Genre: swarm survival · Download: ~1 MB · Mobile: yes · Ages: 7+

Buzz Brigade has a whole Halloween world. You fly the Queen bee, and your swarm follows you and stings anything that comes close. The last world is Spooky Night: the stages are called Pumpkin Patch and Spooky Hayride, and blue bug zappers try to pull your bees into the light (sting the zapper to break it).

The final boss is Jack O’Gourd, the Pumpkin King. He drops rains of pumpkin bombs, fires rings of candy corn, calls in crows and spins straight at you. Below half health he gets even faster.

Best for: players who want action. Stages unlock one by one and Spooky Night is the last world (stages 10 to 12), so start now if you want to face the Pumpkin King by Halloween night.

4. Leaf Me Alone!: the most autumn game ever

Genre: physics arcade · Download: ~1 MB · Mobile: yes · Ages: 6+

What’s more October than a yard full of orange leaves? You have a leaf blower, and every single leaf is simulated (up to 7,200 of them), so they roll, flutter and heap up into real piles. Blow them onto the tarp, fight a leaf war against grumpy Mr. Grumbleton next door, and stop Biscuit the dog from diving into your pile.

For Halloween fans: one yard is called Harvest Moon, and one of the hats you can unlock is a pumpkin head.

Best for: a cozy, satisfying autumn game. Our tip: never blow your own pile from up close.

5. Totally Not Ducks: the best costume in town

Genre: stealth comedy · Download: ~1 MB · Mobile: yes · Ages: 7+

Halloween is about costumes, and nobody wears a costume like this one: three ducks standing on each other’s shoulders inside a trench coat, with a hat and a fake mustache. Waddle into town, steal everything on the shopping list and escape back into the water before anyone shouts “DUCKS!!”.

To keep your disguise, act human. Clap along with the street band, wave at the celebrity and pose for the group photo. Running is suspicious. Quacking is very suspicious. The last heists take place at night at the Moonlight Gala.

Best for: sneaky players and anyone who loves a good costume.

6. Sunny Town: Cozy Life: grow your own pumpkins

Genre: life simulation · Download: ~11 MB · Mobile: yes · Ages: 3+

Not spooky at all, but perfect for a quiet autumn evening. Explore a seaside town and Grandma’s farm, work fun jobs, adopt a pet and make friends. From level 5 you can grow pumpkins on the farm. They keep growing in real time, even while the game is closed, so plant a field before bed and come back to a pumpkin harvest.

Best for: younger kids and anyone who wants a calm break between scares.

Halloween party idea

Put one of these games on the big screen and pass the mouse or phone around. Haunt Sweet Home works great for this: each player gets one night, and whoever clears the house with the highest score wins the biggest piece of candy. In Crop Circle Crew, compare the newspaper headlines you get at the end of each night.
