Too Many Doggos Guide – Leash Tangles, Bracing, Every Dog and 3-Star Walks
Too Many Doggos is a free 3D physics comedy game for your browser and phone. You are a dog walker holding every leash at once, and the leashes are real ropes: they tangle, braid together and wrap around lamp posts. Your job is to pick up pups, deliver each one to its owner or to the Doggy Daycare, and stay upright while the pack chases squirrels. This guide explains how everything works and how to finish all 12 walks with 3 stars.
The basics
- Walk with W A S D or the arrow keys (drag anywhere on mobile).
- Brace by holding Shift (the BRACE button on mobile). You plant your feet and become much harder to drag. You can’t walk while bracing.
- Heel with Space (the HEEL button). Every dog walks back along its own leash and sits next to you. HEEL has a 7 second cooldown.
- Scoop with E when you stand next to a fresh poop. The SCOOP button only appears when you are close enough.
Arrows at the screen edge point to the next thing to do: a dog portrait for owners waiting for a pick-up 📍 or a drop-off 🏠, and a chequered flag for the Doggy Daycare.
Picking up and delivering dogs
- Pick-ups: walk up to an owner who is holding a dog (“Walk Biscuit?”). The leash clips on automatically.
- Drop-offs: owners with a paw-print ring want their own dog back (“My Pepper!”). Bring that dog into the ring, or walk up to the owner yourself.
- Doggy Daycare: walk through the pink gate and every dog that has no owner waiting is delivered at once.
The walk is won when every dog is delivered. If the timer at the top runs out first, the owners are not amused and you have to try again.
Leash tangles
When a running dog cuts across another dog’s leash, the two leashes braid together. You can see the braid starting at your hand, and the counter under the timer shows Tangled ×N. Tangled dogs are tied to each other and their leashes get shorter.
At 5 tangles your own legs get wrapped up: the counter turns red (“LEGS TANGLED”) and you trip much more easily.
To fix it, press HEEL. While the dogs sit next to you, the walker lifts the leashes over their head and removes one tangle about every half second. HEEL also unwinds leashes that are wrapped around a lamp post or a tree, because every dog follows its own leash back to you.
Walking dogs rarely tangle. Running dogs do: chases and the zoomies are where most tangles come from.
Getting dragged (and how not to)
Every dog pulls with its own strength. A Chihuahua can’t move you, but a Great Dane chasing a cat can, and three dogs chasing the same squirrel definitely will. If you are dragged too fast for too long you fall on your belly and get pulled along until the dogs calm down.
- Brace before the chase. When a dog shouts “SQUIRREL!!” or “CAT!!!”, hold BRACE. Bracing makes you more than three times heavier.
- Keep big dogs (Duke, Snowball, Ziggy) away from cats, squirrels and balls when you can.
- Falls cost time, not money. Stepping in poop makes you slip as well, and that one is on the bill.
What makes each dog bolt
| Dog | Breed | Bolts for | Quirk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Biscuit | Corgi | Food, squirrels | Loves snacks |
| Pepper | Chihuahua | Cats, pigeons, the mailman, seagulls | Zoomies champion, too light to drag you |
| Duke | Great Dane | Cats, squirrels | The strongest puller in the game |
| Snowball | Husky | Squirrels, cats, seagulls | Always walks ahead and pulls like a sled dog |
| Noodle | Dachshund | Squirrels, ducks | Stops to sniff almost every lamp post |
| Fifi | Poodle | Pigeons, food | Sometimes refuses to walk |
| Bruno | Bulldog | Food | Often flops down. You have to drag him |
| Ziggy | Dalmatian | Balls, cats, the mailman | Fast and full of energy |
| Mochi | Shiba Inu | Cats, squirrels, ducks | Flops down and screams |
| Goldie | Golden Retriever | Balls, ducks, food | Jumps toward ducks in the pond |
| Sir Waddles | Pug | Food | Slow, lazy, naps mid-walk |
| Bolt | Greyhound | Squirrels, cats, seagulls, pigeons | Fastest sprinter, spots things from far away |
Dogs also poop now and then (some get the zoomies right after), sniff lamp posts, trees and hydrants, and lazy dogs lie down for a few seconds. A dog that is happily sniffing gives up when you pull it away.
The receipt
After each walk you get a receipt from Pawsome Walks Inc. The total becomes your coins.
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Walk fee | +$12 per delivered dog |
| Poop scooped | +$3 each |
| Happy pups tip | up to +$3 per dog (sniffing, chasing, zoomies and fetching make dogs happy) |
| Speedy walk bonus | +$10 if you finish under the par time |
| Poop fine | −$3 for every poop you left behind |
| Broken things | flower pot −$4, garden gnome −$7, café table −$9, crate −$5, watermelons −$6, sandcastle −$4, bin −$3, sign −$3, traffic cone −$2 |
| Stolen sausages | −$4 each (the hot dog stand) |
| Apology cookies | −$5 for every person tripped by a swinging leash |
| Shoe cleaning | −$2 every time you step in poop |
| Emergency dog bath | −$5 when a dog jumps toward the ducks in the pond |
Things break when a dog runs into them, when you are dragged into them, or when a fast-swinging leash sweeps through them. People who stop to admire your pack step over the leashes, but people walking past can be tripped.
How to get 3 stars
Every walk has three stars: deliver all dogs, earn the target amount and finish under the par time. The target and the par time are shown on the walk card before you start.
- Plan the order. Drop off owners first when they are on the way, then head to the daycare.
- Brace early when a critter shows up. A fall costs two or three seconds.
- HEEL as soon as you see two tangles. A tangled pack is slow and trips you.
- Scoop every poop you walk past: it is +$3 instead of −$3 at the end.
- Give flower pots, café tables and sandcastles a wide berth with a big pack.
- On the beach, keep Goldie and Bolt away from seagulls and the pond side.
