Achoo! Dragon Guide – Sneeze Tips, Body-Slams, Best Mutations and Every Boss
Achoo! Dragon is a free 3D action game for your browser and phone. You play a baby dragon with a terrible allergy, and your only attack is a sneeze. Every sneeze shoots a fireball forward and throws you backwards. Learn to use that recoil and the whole kingdom goes down like bowling pins. This guide covers the basics, the best tricks and every boss.
How sneezing works
- Hold left click or Space (right thumb on mobile) to inhale: ah… ah… AH…
- Release to sneeze. A tap gives a tiny “tchoo”, and a full inhale takes under a second.
- The longer you inhale, the bigger and stronger the fireball and the harder the recoil.
- A full charge is a MEGA sneeze. It also blasts a cone of fire in front of you, and you do a backflip.
- Fireballs set villagers, houses, trees and haystacks on fire. Burning villagers panic, run around and spread the fire to their friends.
You also waddle with WASD, the arrow keys or the left thumb, but waddling is slow. The fast way to move is to sneeze in the opposite direction.
Body-slams and bowling
When a big sneeze launches you backwards fast enough, you body-slam everything you fly into. This is the most fun part of the game:
- Face away from a crowd.
- Do a full sneeze. The fireball hits whatever is in front, and the recoil flies you into the crowd behind you.
- Slammed villagers fly through the air and knock over anyone they land on. Hit 3 or more in one chain for a STRIKE.
Villagers who land in the sea count as a splashdown and give extra points, so fight near the beach. Red TNT barrels explode when hit by fire, by a slam or by a flying villager. Slam them into crowds.
Know your enemies
| Villager | What they do | How to handle them |
|---|---|---|
| Peasant | Pitchfork poke up close | Any sneeze works |
| Knight | Shield blocks weak sneezes from the front | Charge at least 60% to break the shield, hit from behind, or body-slam |
| Archer | Shoots arrows along a red line | Step sideways off the line, your fireballs can burn arrows mid-air |
| Bucket Brigade | Throws water that makes you soggy | Soggy means slower inhaling and weaker fire for 3 seconds |
| Court Wizard | Casts slow homing pills | A pill stops you sneezing for about 2 seconds. Burn the pill with a fireball or dodge |
| Big Bertram | Huge shielded knight with a ground slam | Get out of the red circle, then slam him from the side |
| Chicken | Harmless | Roast it for a drumstick that heals a heart |
When only a few villagers are left, yellow arrows at the edge of the screen show where they are hiding.
Pick-ups and flowers
- Coins drop from every villager. Spend them in the shop and wardrobe.
- Drumsticks heal one heart. Roasted chickens drop them when you are hurt.
- Ghost peppers (rare) give your next 3 sneezes an instant full charge.
- Flower patches with a little sign give you Hay Fever for 6 seconds: hold the button for rapid-fire sneezes. The flowers need about 24 seconds to bloom again.
Best mutations
After every wave you pick one of three mutations. Good early picks:
- Double Sneeze: more fireballs in a spread. Easy damage and easy crowd control.
- Spicy Snout: +25% damage per level, works with everything.
- Twitchy Nose: faster inhaling means more mega sneezes.
- Jet Nostrils and Bouncy Belly: bigger recoil and much stronger body-slams. Great for bowling builds.
- Hay Fever: every 5th sneeze (every 3rd at level 2) is a free mega sneeze.
- Big Lungs or Chicken Soup if you keep losing hearts.
Brain Freeze, Chain Reaction and Snot Rocket are fun combo picks once you have the basics.
Shop and wardrobe
Coins buy permanent upgrades: Thick Scales (+1 heart), Fire Belly (damage), Quick Sniff (inhale speed), Lucky Snout (coins), Spare Hanky (one free revive per run) and Head Start (a free mutation at the start of each run). The wardrobe has 9 scale colours and 10 hats, from a party hat to a royal crown.
Stars depend on the hearts you have left when the boss falls: finish with all hearts or one missing for 3 stars, at least half for 2 stars.
Every boss
Sir Lancelump (Meadowbrook): He circles you, then charges along a red line. Stand in front of a house, rock or tree and step aside at the last moment. If he crashes into it, he is dizzy and takes double damage. Small sneezes bounce off his lance from the front.
Grandma Hanky (Pepperfield Farm): Her giant tissue blocks every sneeze from the front (“Bless you, dearie!”). Big sneezes damage the tissue. Once it tears, she is open from every side for about 8 seconds. She turns slowly, so you can also recoil behind her for bonus damage. Watch out for rolling pins.
Chief Splashwell (Millcreek Hollow): His water cannon sweeps across the field, pushes you away and makes you soggy. Stay behind him or far to the side. After a few attacks he runs out of water and is stunned, so unload everything then.
Archmage Sniffleton (Frostbite Fort): He teleports away when you get close and fires rings of pills. Look for the gaps in each ring. Every few attacks he stops for a nap, and that is your chance.
King Fluffington III (Royal Castle): The Royal Hanky-Tank has an armoured front, fires cannonballs at red circles and calls guards. Hit it from the sides or the back. When it overheats it is stunned. In phase 2 the King pops out, rams you and fires pill rings too.
Endless mode
Clear Pepperfield Farm to unlock Endless Sneeze: waves that never stop, a boss every 5th wave, and a mutation after every wave. How far can you get?
